"I'm not finished with my examination," Tempest said, still bristling. He stood and gestured toward the curtain. "Please leave, and I'll give you a full report when we're through." Someone should have walked her into the hospital wing. She should never have been allowed to barrel in the way she had.

Cat could see the way his mother's jaw tensed at what amounted to a scolding, and though he wasn't surprised by what she said next, he didn't like it.
"I'll wait here." She sat in the chair most recently vacated by Castiel, crossed her ankles, and folded her hands on her lap.
"Just get it over with," Cat told the Healer. "Once she's made up her mind you'd have to imperius her to change it."
His mother looked sharply at him for what he'd said, but didn't budge.

Mari's parents came in quickly after, looking somewhat windswept. They had needed to get an emergency portkey to come in, so were later than they liked. His mother rushed to him and gripped his face in her hands to examine him, as though she would be able to find any injuries just from staring at his nose. "Are you okay?" she asked, worry in her eyes though they'd been told he had little to do with the fight, then she wrapped him in a tight hug.
"Yeah, nothing happened to me," Mari replied.
She reached out a hand to grip Castiel's arm, but didn't pull away from Mari any further. "You? Caspian?" It wasn't the place to ask about her older son.

"I'm okay, Auntie," Castiel said. He hoped she'd let go of his arm soon, because she was a lot stronger than she looked. "Caspian's awake and everything. The Healer was going to help him with his self-transfiguration, and then my mom got here..." He looked somewhat worriedly toward the curtains she'd disappeared behind. He hoped she wasn't getting in the way, but she was already acting weird so who knew?

Mari's mother gave a weak smile and released his arm only to brush lightly at his cheek before finally letting her own son go. She worried about what was going to happen, uncertain how this might change how their families interacted and what would happen to Saren. After all, he still was her son. She wrung her hands together and Mari's father stepped forward to put a calming hand on her shoulder.
"I suppose we aren't allowed to go in?" she asked.
"The professor's fixing Caspian and told us to stay out here."
