The Prophecy: Magnitude (Indigo/Jory)

Indigo couldn't wait for Jory to show up. Maybe he'd changed a little something, and maybe he even felt different. He'd gone blonde like he'd considered on and off all summer, a shock of white with bits of darker color tucked underneath, though he might get rid of that too. He was in college, he had a boyfriend and a direction in life. He felt so completely badass that he could hardly stand it. He needed someone to make out with.

He'd have gone to Jory's room or invited Jory to his, but he didn't want to feel like he was hiding. He'd left his hoodie in his room and was wearing a tee and jeans, and a pair of new sneakers that came up to his knees, though the tongue and the back were flipped halfway down. He had his iPod in his pocket and his bookbag slung over one shoulder. The first day of class was over, and he didn't have to wait to see Jory.

It was really weird having Astra following along beside him, but it was what she was training for so Jory wasn't going to leave her behind during his classes. He was super excited to see Indigo again, though it hadn't been a really long time since they'd last seen each other. As far as he was concerned, just about any length of time was too long.

When he reached the common room, he looked around, hoping Indigo was already there, but missed him during his first pass over the room. On his second pass, his eyes caught on a familiar form with unfamiliar hair, but it still only took him a few seconds to decide that yes, it was Indigo. Then his feet were moving quickly with the goal of what would likely end up being an overly enthusiastic hug. "Indigo!"

"Jory!" Yes, the hug was enthusiastic. Indigo wrapped his arms as far around Jory as they could go and half melted into him. "Oh my God, my classes were so freaking awesome, I love all my professors. I love you," he added, grinning into a kiss against Jory's neck. If anyone watched, he didn't care. This was who he was, and the people who mattered liked it just fine.

Jory knew he didn't need to worry about Astra attempting to run off and dropped her lead to wrap his arms tightly around Indigo's shoulders, closing his eyes and almost laughing in happiness at seeing Indigo again. "I love you, too," he returned, then forced himself to pull back just enough to look Indigo over. "You look great." He ran a hand through Indigo's hair, then stole a kiss, anyway, because it wasn't like it was the worst display of affection to ever happen in the common room.

"Mmm," Indigo hummed into the kiss. "We shouldn't get started," he murmured. "I'm too excited, I might like, eat you or something." He blushed a little at saying it, but he was way too high on adrenaline and life to think he'd have any self-control.

"You like the blonde? I did it last night. Someone said I was supposed to read something, but like, who reads the textbook before class even starts?" He'd tried, though he wouldn't admit it. "I couldn't think so I went and took over the bathroom for an hour." And today he was decked out with eyeliner like he hadn't even worn at Hogwarts.

Jory might've commented on that eating line, but Indigo managed to successfully distract him. "It looks great, I love it," he said. "And I really like seeing you without a hoodie." To make his point, he let a hand slide down to touch the bare skin of Indigo's arm. He liked seeing the skin, and he liked how the fabric skated across Indigo's torso.

Indigo gave a little helpless look at the shiver Jory's touch gave him. "I almost wish summer would last longer," he said. He finally felt secure enough not to hide under a hood, and autumn threatened to send him back into it. Maybe he'd just get a new one, and keep the old one for sitting around his room.

Jory shook his head. "Nope, because if it did then you'd never get here for classes," he said. "Do you wanna walk around? I'm too hyper to sit down and people aren't used to Astra yet, they all keep trying to play with her." He understood, of course, and Astra loved the attention, but he didn't care to be surrounded by cooing girls with Indigo finally here.

"Yeah, let's walk," Indigo agreed. He finally released Jory, though one hand only slid to wrap around the back of his waist. He gave the dog a brief greeting, and off they went. "So I'm supposed to talk to my Head of House," he said. "That's uh..." He glanced at the inside of his left arm, where he'd written a few notes. "Oh yeah, Madam Magadia. I kind of know what I want to do, but I'm not sure which major will get me there, and what kind of job it'd really get me."

He grinned at Jory a moment, but didn't make him guess. "Magical tech," he went on. "Like that mirror you gave me. Someone's got to make that stuff, or think it up or something, so like, why not me? So like thank you, really seriously massive thank you for the mirror."

"You're very welcome," Jory said, sliding his own arm around Indigo's waist as the other grabbed Astra's leash again. "That sounds super cool, I bet you should do like charms and transfiguration. Got any fancy, cool ideas that'll make you super rich?" He grinned over at Indigo. Jory knew he wasn't creative enough to come up with nifty gadgets like the mirror, but Indigo probably was.

"Ah, not yet," Indigo said, grinning back. He glanced at the nearest people and decided they were far enough away if he just lowered his voice. "Most of my ideas turn into getting you in bed," he managed. He could say the words, but he blushed every single time, he was pretty sure.

"There's so much stuff to do, though! I've got like, homework tonight, on the first day," including that reading he was actually supposed to do, "and there's some kind of thing going on in an arena. It's not Quidditch, apparently they've got like an arena and a stadium. My Herbology professor put us in groups and there was like a Junior and we all just ended up talking about the school."

"Yeah, a lot of students go and duel and stuff," Jory said. "I heard that sometimes it gets really ridiculous and the professors aren't always there. We could go tonight, I've never seen a duel." Well, he'd seen flashes of something that might have been a duel, but he didn't think about that too often anymore. And of course, he would jump on any reason to get to spend time with Indigo, and maybe he'd get to see one of those ideas that got him into bed.

"Oh wow, me neither," Indigo said. "That'd be awesome. So is it like, fighting over someone's honor? Because from what I heard it sounded like a sports thing." That might be why he hadn't listened as carefully as he probably could have. Not that he disliked sports, but he was a lot more interested in other things.

"I think they just do it for fun, or for practice or something," Jory said, shrugging. He curved his fingers around Indigo's hip just to enjoy a little more contact. It was good to be able to touch Indigo again and he was definitely looking forward to being able to see Indigo every day if they wanted instead of doing the long-term thing again. "It could be fun to watch, get into university life and stuff."

"Yes," Indigo agreed. "My parents gave me this speech before they left about college being an experience and doing things and getting involved. They went to like, war protests or something, and they met at one. I totally always thought they just met in a class sometime. Since my phone and stuff works around here, my mom wants pictures." Speaking of which, he stopped and dug out his phone right then. "Smile for my parents," he said, and held out his arm. Yes, he was excited, and going a mile a minute with it.
