Jai had more or less forgotten that eager little brunette with the bright blue eyes. Until he'd caught sight of him leaving Divination 115. The guy had a sweet little arse and a great smile. It was a few weeks into school now and Jai decided that hooking up again could be a good idea. He ditched Divination 230 to get down the hall before the brunette's class ended. A light sticking charm and a nice Leviosa had a ticket and a scrap of parchment floating their way past rows of half-asleep students. It attached itself to the side of the guy's book bag and Jai took off.

Initially, Jory thought little of the note pinned to his bag, but when he tried to mention it to Indigo and his partner had been too engrossed in some video game event, he'd become immediately more interested. Sure, he'd slept with Jai before, but he didn't plan to do so again now that he was in a relationship with Indigo. It wasn't like he'd ever do something to harm his relationship. After a brief goodbye and ensuring Astra was satisfied, Jory set off toward town and the club.

Jai was in the spotlight and his invitation was forgotten. Most everything was forgotten, except for Dismas's admonition that his on-again off-again relationship with Danica wasn't convincing enough. He'd spent the token ballad gazing at her in the crowd, but couldn't summon anything more than a kiss blown from his fingertips to end it with. The next song in the set was Awakening and that was his f~ing favorite.
There was a moment of near silence as the lights faded after How it Stings, and he tapped his foot, counting out the seconds. Then there was a blast of light as drums crashed, guitar wailed, and he let out a long scream echoed in the crowd. He ran across the stage and leapt onto a prop, hips twitching, one arm high in the air.
"Flyyyin' in the darkness at the speed of light! Are you still asleep or will you meet the night?! You're awaaaaakeniiiing!"

Jory knew the song and couldn't help but join in with the rest of the crowd. One hand held a drink, and he was simply glad to be able to let go. Moving into a new place was stressful and hadn't left behind a lot of room for relaxation. Besides, the music was good and the band members were hot, and managing to be in the front of a rolling crowd was an accomplishment.

Jai let out a long, groaning chuckle and turned, whipping his shirt over his head, then shaking his hair loose. The shirt got tossed to the side as he went into the next verse, now growling, now wailing, now sounding out a strong note. Jai approached the edge of the stage and as the guitar solo wound its way through a wrenching melody, the crowd reached out to touch his fingers, to try and clasp them.
Jai's heart raced, and his lips were spread into a grin. Then he saw Jory. "Come on!" he called, and caught Jory's free hand. Security moved in to help as Jai pulled Jory up toward the stage. The crowd screamed.

Of all the things Jory might have expected in the night, being dragged onto the stage certainly wasn't one of them. However, he stepped up, and he couldn't ignore the pulsing of his blood and the excitement it brought. "This can't be a real thing!" he claimed, though he doubted it would even reach the first row of the audience. Now, even if it was just for a minute or two, he was the center of attention.

The edge of the stage was blinding, the lights burning hot, and the crowd was little more than a vague, dark mass. Jai could feel the excitement, the energy. His skin was sweat-slicked from his earlier acrobatics and his muscles shivered with the need to move. He slung his arm around Jory's waist and brought up his wand so they could sing the next verse together. "Don't suck," he teased, and laughter sprinkled through the screaming of the audience.
"Mooovin' blindly caught up in our darkest need! Cryin' out for mercy while our bodies bleed!" Jai pulled a breath that expanded his chest enough to press lightly against Jory and threw back his head to belt out the last words of the song.
We're awaaaaakeniiiing!

It didn't matter that Jory couldn't see or that the band seemed somewhat out of sync up on stage to his inexperienced ears; he could feel the energy and excitement in an entirely new way, and his arm sliding around Jai in response seemed entirely natural and innocent. Hearing screams and cheers and singing along from the front instead of as a part of it all was entirely different, and then he realized his voice was blasting out along with Jai's, and the flush in his cheeks from excitement and heat spread to the tops of his ears.

Jory was adorable and glowing, and the crowd loved him. The crowd envied him, but loved the flush of his cheeks, the bright gleam of excited eyes, and the shock of wild hair on the sweet boy-next door that Jai had his arm around. As the final notes of the song blazed into the room, Jai stepped forward and pulled Jory against him, then dipped him backwards for a kiss that would silhouette beautifully against the burst of flame behind the drums.

Jory was surprised for just long enough by the sudden shift that he didn't stop in time to completely avoid the kiss. Their lips touched and the crowd cheered and his heart raced as the excitement washed over him all over again. Then he broke the kiss, using more willpower than he cared to admit. He had Indigo, he couldn't do this. Even if his body definitely instantly remembered the fact that Jai had been his first sex partner in years before Indigo.
His eyes were bright and large, and he was too stunned to pull away properly. "I can't," he managed, though a part of him was keenly aware of how cruel it would be to reject the lead singer of a band on a stage in front of a crowd.

Jai blinked uncertainly, more than a little surprised. He didn't force the kiss, but held Jory until the lights went out again. Then he straightened and gestured to Lev that he needed a few minutes. Seconds later he caught Jory's hand and led him backstage. It wasn't roomy, but it would provide some privacy. He tried to keep himself under control, the energy from stage, from the still-screaming audience tugging at him.
"Was it the crowd?" he asked. That had to be it. Jory wouldn't have come if he hadn't been interested. It had seemed like Jory was into it, though!

Jory wanted to wring his hands together, to play with a ring, just to do something. "No, that was brilliant. I just...I've got a boyfriend, for over two years. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have..." Anxiety started to take over, and he wasn't sure what to do. He couldn't just run away, could he? "I asked him to come and he wouldn't because of some stupid game, but I wanted to so I came anyway." And he was rambling.

When Dismas found his way backstage, his Sunset was boggling at something or another. What was it? That his conquest had denied him, or that he'd forgotten himself onstage? Likely the former, though the latter was what Dismas wished to discuss. His eyes blazed. "Jai? I'd like a word with you. Ah, here comes Danica. Stay here if you will please, Jory." Vampires had long memories. Whatever Sunset's issues recalling the boy's name, Dismas remembered from a single conversation.
"Jai? Now, if you please." Now.

Jai's jaw tightened, but he managed to flick a glance at Jory before he followed after his manager. He hadn't been thinking of anything but his own pleasure and though Dismas was usually fine with that, he knew he'd done something wrong. What was it? He looked dejected, but didn't try to figure it out. He'd be told soon enough.

With Jai gone, Jory gave in to his urges and twisted his fingers tightly together. He had to tell Indigo, didn't he? But it had only lasted like five seconds and that barely even counted, and Indigo would be cross, so maybe he should just pretend...no, too many people had seen it, and knowing his luck he'd end up in some gossip magazine. Maybe he should run. Yes, he'd made a mistake, but the thought of just disappearing after...what, leading Jai on? seemed like just another bad idea. So he stayed rooted to the spot.
