"Why don't we slip out while they're talking?" Skylar suggested. He flicked a glance toward the main exit, then one toward the kitchens. His head tipped slightly toward the latter. "If you want out, pick up your skirt at the count of three and stick with me." There was no otherwise.
"One," he whispered, "Two. Three!"

Lani's first instinct was to refuse, to go to her brother and apologize for running away, but it lasted only a brief moment. There was no reason for her to apologize, not to him anyway. She'd run off once before, hadn't she? And it had turned out quite well. Why not do it again? Pick up your skirt in the middle of everything, though! Wide eyes turned to Skylar, and a small smile pulled at her lips at the thought of her brother attempting to chase her through the building when he saw her leave. Then she was following Skylar.

Skylar ignored the stares, ignored the waiter he skirted around, and grinned as they tore into the kitchen. He knew this was stupid, knew he'd be dealing with the consequences, but he felt like a teenager again. He pulled Lani out the back door with him and, sliding his arms around her, said "Hold on!" Then he disapparated.

Eros gave one lazy blink before looking back at Mano. He hadn't expected that in the least. Others in the dining area were already murmuring about the admittedly brief scene, but he found himself seeking his seat again as though nothing had happened. It would be far less awkward than continuing to stand and suddenly another glass of wine sounded fantastic.

"For god's sake," Mano muttered as he, too, sank into his seat. At least the restaurant would be happy with them spending more of their money during a longer stay. "That was just for spite, you know." It came out more like a grumble than Eros would probably like, but Mano could control himself, and he smoothed his robes as he settled back at the table.

"Rather likely," Eros agreed. He was almost surprised that his husband hadn't run after the wayward children. Children. Skylar Constantine was their age. Eros caught the waiter's eye. "I'll pick up the check for the couple that recently used your back exit. If anything's been damaged send the bill for that along as well." He didn't like doing that at all, but he'd like it even less if that little scene damaged his reputation, Mano's, or even Lani's.
"I didn't know your sister could be so... impulsive," he told Mano when the waiter had left.

"She disappeared from a ball to be with you, then she ran away on a whim. As much as I may have repressed her, she is still my sister," Mano said. Briefly, he lifted a hand to rub at the bridge of his nose, then set it back on the table. "You've known she was here the whole time." Eros had given him enough information to know that Lani was safe, and his parents had seemed disgruntled but not as frazzled and worried, not that he'd had much interaction with them.
