He wanted pizza, but the Muggle town with the pizza place was locked down for quarantine. This was the next best thing, and Andy didn't question that. There was an Aroma in Diagon Alley, and it was good. And the employees were always hot. Not that Andy had any skill at picking people up, or that he'd attempt it with his dads around (a thought that crushed his chest with happiness, actually), but eye candy was always nice. Even nicer, the eye candy here looked like college students, one and all.
The college was open! The wizarding town nearby was open! It was magically locked-down like Diagon Alley so no Muggles wandered in, and it wasn't as crowded as it might be otherwise, but it wasn't dead. It was open, and Andy had gotten a tour of the college from someone so freakishly cool and so freakishly hot that Andy was surprised there wasn't a hurricane following the guy around.
"Um, chocolate shake? With whipped cream?" He hadn't gotten one with his food, but he wanted one now.

"Sure, kid," Hayden said from her place behind the register. Usually, she dealt with the computers, but living in an apparently post-apocalyptic society meant things were a little weird. It was a flat chested, androgynous, hi, miss, sorry, sir, sorry, I mean miss kind of day, which had fried a few already frazzled nerves within an hour of starting her shift. "Looking at the school? Seen a lot of people in doing that since we came back."

As if Andy wasn't excited enough, now yet another amazingly hot person was asking about his current favorite subject. He nodded and bounced a little on the balls of his feet, then remembered he had money and he needed to part with it. He glanced at the amount the register showed.
"I thought it was going to be closed, but I guess with everyone back..." He was so happy he could puke. But he wouldn't. Chocolate shake. Andy was also so happy to see someone androgynous working at a cafe. He didn't have the first clue how to make his own gender-nonconformity a topic after years and years of hiding it (though with the Moreaus he was fully open at home), but the thought was there.
"Your eyes are super cool. I like that... ring around them?" Complimenting people was good, right?

Hayden chuckled a little as she took the kid's money and counted out the change. "Thanks," she said. "Your eyeliner's on point, took me years to figure that out." She wasn't entirely sure of the kid's gender, but it didn't bother her. They was enough for her head, and it was always good to see another andro person. A glance behind her revealed a coworker making the shake, and with no line, she didn't try to rush them off.

Andy had gotten his best makeup tips from YouTube binging, but couldn't remember anymore where he'd gotten what. He was glad that he'd decided to say screw it and dress how he wanted today instead of trying to butch up, too. People went wild in college, right? And besides, Rhys and Matthew had come with him, and maybe he'd gotten a little reassurance that they had his back.
"It seems like... everyone does their own thing here," he said. "Like, the guy that gave the tour goes by Cat, and he... " How could anyone begin to describe someone that obscenely cool? "I want to be him some day." Andy blinked, bringing himself back, then blushed a little.

"You and half of everyone who meets him," Hayden said. She leaned forward, arms crossed on the counter. There was a reason Cat was one of the main tour guides, and it wasn't just because he was hot. "It's usually pretty laid back here, we've got people from all walks. Cat likes to throw parties. Wait 'til you see him in form." That was always am fun time, not much beat seeing a friendly big cat wandering by the punch bowl.

Parties. Yes, that was what happened at college. Parties and going wild and barely making it to class and the best years of your life of whatever. Andy grinned. "So you know him? Like, more than just seen him around?" Yes! Andy felt unutterably cool. He'd never though he'd amount to anything, and he was practically a college man, talking to the coolest people.
"What kind of stuff is there to do around here?" With the Muggle world quarantined, what was left?

"There's a club in town, owned by a vampire, so it should be open, still," Hayden said. She hadn't gone to check, though, and could be wrong. "People hang out here some, because of the computers. Dueling tourneys, quidditch, the usual. What do you like to do?" Except for work on great subtle makeup skills.

"Wait, vampire?" Andy glanced reflexively at the computers and decided he'd better budget for the cafe because he needed computer time. He wondered if he could get one in the dorms. Then he decided he'd have far more important things to do than keep up with his social media, like actually live. A club owned by a vampire. Wait, was his excitement about that racist? Or, like, species-ist?
"I mean, I've totally met vampires before." Probably the lamest lie he'd ever told.

Hayden laughed again. "Don't worry, most people haven't. Chances are, you'll barely even see him." She reached a hand across the counter for a shake. "Hayden, one of the mythical returned." No one had really proposed a name for the event or those who had come back, yet, at least not one that had stuck.

"Andy. Moreau." He'd been plain old Andy James forever, and hell yes he was still thrilled to be a Moreau. He had two well-adjusted parents without replacing his mother, and really, Moreau just sounded cool. "Don't worry, I won't ask you any stupid questions, my dads were gone too." And now that they were back, they were all supportive of his dreams like they'd been since they day they'd met.

Dads, that was cool. It was still rare enough, especially in the wizarding world, to be something of note. "Glad they came back." It was still a relief to hear about someone else who'd returned, since no one knew if everyone would. "Well, since you've got dads, you should know we've got a lot of Ls and Gs here, even more Bs, and a few Ts. Most people don't give a sh~, so you're gold, mate."

Andy perked up even further, if at all possible. He did a quick mental check that his wand wasn't within reach, though he hadn't had an accident in recent memory. Of course, he hadn't been this excited in recent memory, either. "Are you a student? Does everyone live on campus?" Andy wanted to be wherever the party was.

"Freshies usually have to live on campus, and a lot of us keep on. There's a neighborhood with rentals that's mostly students, too. I've been saving up to get a place there. Before the whole rapture thing there were always parties going on there, but hey, don't tell your dads, yeah?" Hayden grinned and winked. College meant parties sometimes, the guys couldn't expect anything less.

"Oh, they don't care what I do," Andy said. "They used to buy me condoms just in case and I sold them at school. Do you know what condoms are?" Muggles did, but a lot of wizards didn't, and he'd sold a lot just as curiosity items. His little speech about what they were for sold even more.
