"We'll see about that!" Juliane said in a light-hearted way with a little laugh, even though she did actually mean it. At the time that she had taken the dare, it seemed like a nice little challenge. Something that seemed adventurous and crazy at the same time. She accepted it so that she could feel that rush. Even as she stepped up to the edge of the lake, she could feel the adrenaline building up within her. But at the last second she wimped out. Why would it be any different the second time around? Well, it would be different because this time she wouldn't let herself get as far as the edge this time. She knew it was foolish and what if something did happen to her? Sure, her brothers were old enough to take care of themselves now and her father was used to living on his own, but what would they do if something happened to her? It was a lot of pressure and it was that kind of guilt that kept her from living a little, not that she would admit that to herself or anyone else.
To pull her mind away from that topic, she said, "You're finding all of these things I ought to do, but what's in it for you?" She asked raising a brow. Maybe there was something he had missed out on, but she doubted that there was. He seemed like the kind of person who tried everything and anything.

"Hmm," Ian said, crossing an arm over his chest and bringing his other hand up to scratch at the short hair on his chin. "Other than the satisfaction of getting a girl like you to go wild?" He wasn't quite sure what he could get out of it, he was just looking for a little fun. Had she ever gone wild before? If she had, it couldn't have been any time even vaguely recently.

Juliane laughed. "Alright." She said. She didn't know if she had ever 'gone wild', but she had had her fun. There were times when she missed those days. She missing messing around with her crew, narrowly avoiding being caught by whatever adult or prefect who seemed to be lurking, and not worrying about what happened if they did get caught. Then, another question popped into her head and although it felt like the answer was staring her right in the face, she couldn't see it. "What's in it for me?" She asked out loud, but softly.

"Well, you get to hang out with me, of course," Ian said, then shot a wide grin toward Juliane. "You get the freedom of knowing you've done something that's probably insanely stupid, you get to let loose for a while. Besides, you get to ride on my broomstick, who wouldn't want to ride on my broomstick?"

"Fair enough." Juliane said simply. An amused smile made its away across her soft, pink lips. There was something about Ian, he had a way about him, that made her feel incredibly calm and secure. She wasn't being her usual high-maintenance control freak. She was actually relaxed. Juliane pushed back a lock of her bright red hair and tucked it behind her ear. She felt like a complete fool for not having anything to say. Every time she tried to open her mouth to speak, his gorgeous smile or mesmerizing green eyes shut her up.

"So," Ian said, still secretly smirking at himself for his last words. "Have you ever been to a club? For some reason I don't see you as the clubbing type." He wasn't exactly the type, either, but it was fun to go for a drink every once in a while, to go and see the sights. It could be quite amusing to see the people at the clubs, and if he ended up hanging out with one of them, all the better.

A funny expression crossed Juliane's face. "Of course I have." She said. It had been a little while since she had been clubbing with her friends, considering most of them were paired off now. Some of them were, *gasp*, planning their weddings. It didn't seem right. Juliane felt like she was way too young to have friends who were already getting married. There wasn't any point in going clubbing with friends who were tied down, so she hadn't gone at all. Then, a strange thought crossed her mind. She tilted her head and looked at him. "Have you?" She asked.

"Yes, I've gone a few times, on a few different continents," Ian said, raising an eyebrow over at her. "Did you seriously think I hadn't?" Maybe he didn't make a habit of going weekly or something like some people did, but he went enough to know what went on. If the powers that be had their say, he wouldn't have nearly as many free weekends soon as he had had for the past years.

"No," Juliane said. "I just don't know if you'll be able to keep up." She added teasingly. She placed her hands on her hips and kept her chin tilted up for dramatic emphasis. Juliane was a drama queen most of the time. Most of what she said was overly dramatic and twisted. She had a knack for taking the smallest unimportant details and blow them up into something big. She had a particular talent for taking some minor piece of gossip and turning it into a big scandal, not that that was something she practiced regularly. Back in the day, when she was still in school, gossip was her drug. It was powerful, and it was also something she was good at. Eventually, she matured and lost interest in ruining other people's reputation. Now, that was just a piece of her past that she was ashamed of.

"I'll try my best," Ian said. "I might have to take a shot or two, but I think I can keep up." He eyed her shoes, but at least she wasn't wearing those damned stilettos many women insisted made them look sexy. "What, do guys tend to get lost in your impeccably dressed dust?" he teased, grinning at her.

Impeccably dressed dust. Juliane grinned. She was fond of compliments and he played it so well. "Play your cards right and maybe I'll let you buy me a drink." She teased. A thought popped up in the back of her mind. It seemed distant and hardly noticeable, but the more she focused on it the more it got to her. They were going to a nightclub in a muggle village...which meant there were bound to be loads of muggles in there. What if she freaked out? She was never really sure how to act around muggles. It wasn't that she thought they were all inferior to her, but more like she felt like she had the word WITCH or FREAK tattooed on her forehead for them to see.

"Oh, well I guess that means no flirting with the barmaid?" Ian asked, grinning. He didn't make a point of flirting with the women at the bar in the clubs, or those out dancing, but he didn't turn down the opportunity very often, either. Usually, he didn't have anyone with him to buy a drink fro, though.

Juliane shrugged her shoulders as if she couldn’t care less. It wasn’t like he was tied down to her, or she to him. In fact, Juliane had no connection to the man other than she had met him that same night. "You can flirt with whoever you want." She said, keeping her voice level and her face straight. Why shouldn't he? It's not like this was a date...Before tonight, Juliane didn't even know the man.

"Well, if I flirt with other girls, then I'm not playing my cards right, unless you're into that sort of thing. And then you'd have to go and buy your own drink, or get some creepy old man to buy it for you, and no one wants that." Ian gently nudged Juliane's arm and looked over at her. Nah, it couldn't really be considered a date, but why not, it was fun.

Juliane tried to fight it. She turned her head away, stared at the ground, tugged the corners of her mouth down, but she couldn't keep that smile from creeping onto her face. "You raise a good point." She said finally giving in and looking at him. She couldn't help but to give off a little laugh. It wasn't fair that he was so charming. It made it impossible for her to not smile, to not laugh, and to not get lost in his gorgeous green eyes.
