"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know Jai lived with someone else," Sean said, surprised at the appearance of someone else. He hadn't expected to meet a roommate, but was very glad he tended to dislike wandering around nude. "I'm Sean." It was better to introduce himself, right? That was what people did when they met someone new.

"Good evening, Sean," Dismas said with an incline of his head. "My name is Dismas. I'm Jai's manager." Jai rarely mentioned him, but almost alwas mentioned the band at some point and, increasingly often, mentioned it by name. Leviticus had called what was hopefully a phase Lead Singer's Disease.
"Is there anything I might help you with?"

Was it normal for singers to live with their managers? "I was just looking for the loo," Sean said, pushing aside the thought. "Jai's passed out, I should've asked him before." It was pointless to pretend he hadn't just had sex when he was standing there in boxers at some ungodly hour of the night. He reached up and rubbed at the back of his neck.

Human needs. Dismas gestured down the hallway and pointed out the correct door. It was indistinguishable from the others and kept closed whether in use or not. "If you would like food or drink after, please join me in the kitchen. I'll be awake for hours yet." He pointed out the doorway for that as well.

Sean nodded as he thanked the man and headed toward the first door. It felt like there was something just slightly off about Dismas, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. He only spent a minute or two in the bathroom before finding his way into the kitchen. Whether he ate or not, something to drink sounded good. "How long have you guys been here?" he asked.

"About six months," Dismas said. He'd turned on only the dim, inset lights above the center island in the kitchen. A fruit bowl rested in the center, and a glass of iced juice had been set out for Sean. Dismas held a steaming coffee mug with a lid, despite the weather.
"I like the place, it's very... alive." No pun intended.

"Heh, no kidding," Sean said, reaching for the glass, then offering a thanks before taking a grateful pull from it. "I got here this afternoon, everyone so far seems very outgoing." Outgoing was an understatement, especially when it came to Cat. He looked curiously at the pale man across from him. "I think I'll like the club."

Dismas gave an appreciative smile, one practiced enough to disguise the flash of fangs unless one was paying close attention. "It's been rather popular. I own it as well. You could say I'm something of an entrepreneur. You're a student at the university?"

"Yeah," Sean said, nodding. "I'm going for transfiguration." The only training in transfiguration he'd had since graduating school was very minimal and focused, so he was looking forward to getting back into the classroom and refining his skills. "I wish I'd heard about the school earlier, though." At least there seemed to be a good number of freshmen his age, or so he'd been told.

"The school itself has only been open a handful of years," Dismas said. "Word is still spreading, though it'll be well-known in another decade or two." Wizards were slow to change. Knowing and accepting were two different things, but he thought it would turn out to be a successful endeavor.

"I think it's a good thing," Sean said. "We have seven years, but it's not enough for everyone. I mean, any jobs that offer extra schooling only offer really specialized schooling that's useless to everyone else." Aurors came to mind, but they were so strict about their entrance requirements and the education was limited to what Aurors used, which he understood.

"Wizarding culture is still very rooted in past ideals," Dismas said. "Learning one trade is enough for a man who intends to live in one place and perform one job for his entire life. He'd become an expert at a single craft and have no use for others.
"The world changes, though. Cultures intermix, people move around, and there are so many choices now that it seems a waste of potential to ignore them all." Mortals were greatly concerned with time, as well. They wanted to experience as much as possible, as quickly as possible, more eager to consume by volume than concentrate on details few retained interest in.

"The wizarding world has a lot of catching up to do," Sean said, looking down at his glass. While the muggle world was far from the epitome of a social utopia, he'd experienced much more bias and bigotry from the wizarding world. It wasn't exactly what they were talking about, but it was always in the back of his mind. "There's a lot more mixing now, which is good. Like in your club."

"The Statute of Secrecy still applies there," Dismas pointed out. "The Crow's Nest won't make any changes, only provide a meeting place for those already interested in change. It might easily become a target for those who don't approve." It might, but it wouldn't. It was situated in a place which was still safe, a place which would grow around it. No, it wouldn't make a change, but it would stand ready for any which occurred.

"Well, just from the wizarding side," Sean said. "I mean, wizards mixing with muggles, even with muggles who don't know, hadn't always been a good thing. And your club is really open, too. I mean, you've got tattooed bi guys running around without a care." That wasn't something often found in mainstream clubs, from his experience.
