"Seriously. I think British cooks put a charm on their food or something," Mari said. Just about everything he'd had since moving to England had been pretty much awesome. He paused and his smile froze as he noticed his brother, but made a determined decision to ignore Saren. It took a moment, but he was able to pull his eyes away from the disappointment to focus on Castiel again.
"We're totally gonna have to get another one, 'cause this is awesome," he continued. A quick survey of the seats around them revealed a pair of empty ones so close by they would be able to hear the conversation of whoever sat there. He hoped Saren wasn't heading for that option.

Right up until the point when his date headed down the row, Saren hoped she would choose some other unseen pair of seats. But no, they ended up seated in the row above his brother and cousins, just to the right. When Saren's eyes drifted to his left, all they saw was Caspian's unnatural head. F~ the group, he could enjoy the duel even with the trio in such close proximity.
He looped an arm around Evangeline's waist, settling a hand lightly against her hip. "I could teach you to duel, I bet you'd be wonderful," he said. He already tutored her in other areas, teaching her another subject just meant the beautiful ginger would be in his home more often.

Cat felt like gagging at the overblown flattery he couldn't help overhearing. He couldn't even finish his pork rolls. He resisted saying anything, but threw a dark look over his shoulder. Had Scaren shown up just to prove that he'd managed to trick a freshman into bed with him?

Jory stood on his toes to scan the crowd for empty seats, one hand trailing back to Indigo and the other wrapped around a bottle of butterbeer. "There," he said, gesturing with the bottle, "by that guy with the hair, I think he's a professor or something." He hadn't been at the school long enough to get to know everyone, but he at least vaguely recognized a good portion of people. "Oh, wait..." His eyebrows creased as he noticed who was sitting next to the guy. Maybe sitting near Mari and Castiel wouldn't be the best idea.

As far as Indigo was concerned, that guy with the hair was Mari. He winced. If there was anything that could kill his budding confidence it was facing his ex with the guy he'd dumped him for. "Maybe we can find somewhere else," he said, looking around. The stands were packed, though. It seemed like the entire school had turned out for this event.
Sit down, you're blocking the view! someone called.
Indigo grimaced. "Do you see anywhere else?" he asked.

"No, I don't," Jory said, glancing around. He briefly squeezed Indigo's hand and hurried up the steps to avoid getting yelled at by anyone else. "Here, we're not right beside them, anyway." There were at least a few seats separating them, and maybe the others wouldn't even notice them. He caught a glimpse of someone sitting up a little higher than them, though, a guy who looked strangely familiar. "Hey, you recognize him?" he asked, gesturing over his shoulder.

Indigo glanced back, but nobody popped out at him. "Should I?" he asked. He hunched a little, a posture that would have seemed much more natural with his hoodie on, and tried to be invisible. He was sitting on the far side of Jory away from that particular group. He wasn't afraid of anything concrete, but his awkwardness level rose with every step.

"He just looks familiar, I feel like I know him," Jory said. He tried to focus on the duel going on on the stage below, but couldn't help glancing back over his shoulder at the guy. There was a feeling in his head, deep down inside like he needed to figure out who the man was. It took a couple more glances before something clicked, and there was a flash, and he realized who it was, and for a moment he was speechless.

Indigo wasn't so caught up with himself that he didn't notice the look on Jory's face, or the tension in his body. "Jory? Are you okay?" Astra would know, but they'd left her in Jory's room to come out together. Indigo glanced back at the guy, but he still wasn't familiar, not at all.

"He's the guy that was in my prophecy," Jory said, finally managing to pull his eyes away to look at Indigo. "We're at a dueling show, and it's him...what if it's gonna happen now?" Maybe talking quietly would keep any battles from happening, maybe it was just coincidence and nothing bad would happen.

Indigo looked again, trying to remember what the words had been. Something about a cat fighting a halfblood, and a family torn in half, wasn't it? Cat. Catalyst. Indigo's breath caught, and he struggled to make words. If the crazy thought that had just occurred to him was right, they were sitting in a bad place.
"Cat," he whispered, and pointed to the guy with the hair, the one who'd given them their tour of VU. "Catalyst," he whispered, and pointed to Castiel.

Castiel wasn't so far away that he couldn't hear the whispering, and shot an angry glare at Indigo, who he'd recognized despite the blonde hair. If it wasn't bad enough that Mari's brother was here being a douche, now his ex-boyfriend had to also be here, also being a douche.
"Maybe we should sit somewhere else," he suggested. Or they could leave. Leaving would probably be good.

Cat didn't know anything about Mari's ex, but he'd had about enough of listening to Saren's drawling schmooze to the poor, stupid girl he'd dragged along. Hell, maybe he'd paid her. Maybe she was one of his wh~s and not a freshman at all.
"Let's do that," Cat agreed. "I saw some friends down in the front row. They ought to be able to make some room for us."

Saren hadn't missed the looks he'd gotten, both from Caspian and from the other guy who had sat down nearby. It was quickly ruining his mood. "Don't leave on account of me," he said. "You have wonderful seats there." Picking a bit of a fight couldn't be too bad, it wasn't like they'd never done so in the past.

Mari's fragile good mood was officially shot through. This was more than he wanted to deal with, couldn't their last night have just gone smoothly? He refused to look at his brother and resisted glancing toward Indigo. He just wouldn't talk, then they could ignore his brother and move on without any issues.
