As strange as it was to go to a lesson with Magadia with a companion, Jory wasn't ready to be alone, and so Jai was with him as he approached the building. "Thank you for coming with me," he said, reaching down absently to scratch at Astra's ears. The dog was wearing her little cape today, and he'd been keeping her much closer over the past day since the prophecy. Hopefully the woman would be okay with him bringing someone else. "I still can't believe I gave another one."

"It didn't sound like a fight or anything," Jai reminded him. "It was all good stuff." I think. Madame Magadia had taken the memory from him so it was even more vague than it had been before, but stuff talking about love couldn't be bad, right? Unless it meant Jory was going back to his boyfriend. Jai pouted slightly and tugged his hat forward.

"Small blessings," Jory said, reaching up to knock on the door. He wasn't nearly as panicked as he had been about his first prophecy, which was a step in the right direction. "Last time, she made me focus and we used the crystal and some stones to get more detail out of it." It would be hard to find out more details if Indigo was involved in it, and if part of it was about love and himself, then Indigo had to be involved.

"Enter," Dayea called from within. She sat at her usual place at a round, red-draped table in front of a crackling fire. The smell of the dried herbs and flowers hanging above it gave off a gentle, soothing scent that sought to lull rather than overpower. The room was much as it had been the first time Jory had visited, though of course with time it had absorbed the energies spent within it. Mostly Dayea's of course, but the room recognized Jory and welcomed him.
"I see you have both come," she noted, not looking up from her cards. She set the last she had pulled onto the table, then reached beneath it, dropping a biscuit for the dog as was her habit. Astra was well-trained. She would seek the treat when her charge allowed it.

Jai looked aside at Jory and followed him in, shoulders slightly hunched. He paused, closing the door behind them, then snatched off his hat and tucked it under his arm. He'd had Madame Magadia as a professor before, but actually going to her house was something different. He looked around the room silently, unsure what he should be doing.

Jory unhooked Astra's leash and removed her cape so she could to take the treat and relax. Two years after the start of the lessons, she was quite used to how things went. "Thanks for coming yesterday," he said, sitting in his usual spot. As if the woman would ever have decided not to come investigate a new prophecy. This visit shouldn't be as stressful as the first one he'd had with her, so despite the craziness of the past few days he was at least kind of relaxed.

Dayea gave a slight nod and waited for all three of her visitors to be seated. She got promising energies from Jory. He wasn't distracted by his fears like she might have expected. He'd managed to turn his thoughts toward Divination. Jai, however, was radiating discomfort. She would let him stay for a bit, but would not let him interfere with their goals. She stood and crossed to the bureau in which her gemstones rested, sorted by color, in nests of velvet. She plucked three free and returned to the table with them.
To Jory, she offered a smooth black obsidian mottled with white, snowflake-like bursts. This would sharpen his visions and guide him toward the truths of himself in relation to his ego. It would help him see truth and error. For herself she had chosen clear quartz, a stone she hadn't brought out for Jory before. This time he wouldn't need to rely on her to channel his strength, she was sure of it. No, today she would act as protector.
The third stone she offered to Jai. He was no seer, but he seemed to have an affinity for stones. His was a milky blue-white which picked up the yellow glow of the fire. "You know this stone, yes?" she asked. "Tell me why I have chosen it for you."

"It's moonstone," Jai said. That question had an easy enough answer. It was often used in Divination, in runes, crystal balls, pendulums and jewelry. "It... it'll make me intuitive?" Madame Magadia didn't correct him, but he could tell that she wanted more. What else did it do? Calming. Balance. Communication. He kept his gaze low. Jory had brought him to help and his nerves were going to mess things up if he couldn't get himself under control. "I'm... going to help," he tried.

Dayea nodded. "Yes," she said. Her gaze moved to Jory. "We will spend a few minutes in quiet thought before we begin. Clear yourselves, both of you. Jory, try to clear worry. Let yourself think in images. Let your thoughts take you inward. Jai, clear emotion. Let yourself recall the prophecy. The words need not be exact. Recall your first impressions." Dayea and Jory usually started by talking, clearing the air verbally, but this would not work with an observer.

Jory nodded and wrapped his hand against the stone given to him. The thought of seeing the truths the prophecy would reveal was somehow less terrifying now. Things would happen as they happened, and he couldn't stop things whether he saw them or not. He closed his eyes and took in deep breaths as he tried to clear his mind of all the worry and pain of the last week.
Images.
Bright lights and a seething crowd. Indigo's confused, hurt face. A borderline apologetic expression quickly turning angry again. Jai surrounded by spinning stars. Boxes in a room. Jai looking guilty and sorry. If the prophecy was about them, then those images were important, right?
Let your thoughts take you inward.
Indigo saying he couldn't go, while Jai's expression was one of pure excitement and energy. Holding his mirror in his hands alone in his new room and wondering. The mirror on the side table with Jai beneath him. All of it seemed too surreal for worry. Pain, sadness, regret? Yes. Happiness, contentment, even in flitting moments? Yes. But little worry.

A clear mind didn't come as easily to Jai. He clung to his emotions even when he tried not to. Recall the prophecy. Recall your first impressions. He could do that. He looked unseeing down at the cloth on the table and thought back to Jory's bedroom. They'd been talking about Sunset, hadn't they? And Jory had told him not to let him fall. And he'd smiled.
The moonstone felt cool and welcome in his hands as he remembered what he could of the prophecy. Someone was going to find calm. Someone, the seer, was going to find love, and the singer, him, who else could it be? The singer would be free. It all felt good to him. Even if he didn't know all the words, even if he'd been nervous for Jory, the feeling he'd gotten had been good.

Yes, good, Dayea thought. She could feel the tensions slipping away and concentrated on banishing them. These distractions would find no strength at her table. One hand curled loosely around her stone and the other rose, moving lightly as though to wave away negative energy. It tried to cling, but she wouldn't let it.
"Speak, Jory," Dayea prompted. "Speak your thoughts. Describe what you are seeing in whatever words come to you. Hear your voice, but do not let it alter the flow of thought." It was time to begin leading him toward that balance between self-awareness and forgetfulness. Some day he would be a great Seer, she was sure of it.

Jory kept his eyes closed as his fingers gently rubbed the stone. "Jai thinks he's guilty for the whole thing, and maybe Indigo feels it some, too. But it was all me," he said, his voice low as he spoke and, more or less, forgot the others in the room. "I don't regret Jai, but I miss Indigo, which is hard. I've always been impulsive, and this time I wanted to feel special more than my self-control could stop." His eyebrows creased and a brief shake of his head pushed that negativity away. "I think the prophecy says it will end up okay, though." Even if it hurt.

Jai blinked up at Jory, then stared blankly a moment before looking away again. He did feel guilty, and he was pretty sure he'd said something about it. Why would the ex-boyfriend feel guilty? Jai wanted to argue, to remind Jory that he'd known full well that Jory was taken when they'd walked together, when they'd headed into that park, and when they'd gotten off together. He'd known, and he'd wanted, so he'd just done it.
The prophecy says it will end up okay.
Jai let himself stay calm, and when Madame Magadia pushed a bit of parchment toward him, he read the words she'd written there.
The broken one will find peace and calm in the company of one who can fulfill dual desires. The singer will be freed from expectations and given room to grow. The seer will be loved without unsavory obligations.
He still didn't know all the words, but he remembered what he'd been told. The words need not be exact. Recall your first impressions. He read the words again, letting himself feel instead of think. Maybe he had the basic idea and that was enough. He pushed the paper aside toward Jory.

Good, Dayea thought, giving Jai a silent nod. Perhaps she would recommend that he bring a small set of stones to classes, if they helped him so much. Or perhaps he was feeding a bit off of Jory. Dayea focused her attention on the blossoming seer.
"Go back," she said gently. "Back to the moments before Astra alerted you." Her voice was low and drowsy, but she didn't slip into a trance of her own. No, this prophecy was different from the other, they all felt it, and so it was for Jory alone to discover. "Feel yourself slip free of thought. Let the words come to you. Listen to them."
